Abstract
The topic of the dissertation has been chosen in connection with the fact that in today's technology-dominated culture there are more and more different forms of sadness and loneliness, to which especially young people are prone. That is why, the paper pinpoints role models proposed by John Paul II, according to whom, following such role models can lead to the formation of a new person and a Christian. The research question on how role models can contribute to the improvement of the catechetical process has been addressed in four chapters, the first of which presents role models based on the Bible and the Catechism of the Catholic Church. The second chapter shows the Triune God as the most perfect role model, as well as Mary and the chosen saints while, in the third chapter, the author has indicated the place of role models in the structure of catechesis as well as their symbolic and integrative meaning. Subsequently, the fourth chapter outlines a vision of a role model in the context of catechetical threats. This dissertation is part of the reflection on the personal dimension of catechesis, and therefore it has been possible to demonstrate that there is a stable programme for contemporary catechesis, which focuses on the role model o and the achievements of saints. All the baptised can also assume the role of growing up to be a role model Christ and the achievements. All the baptised can also assume the role of growing up to be a role model. The research question has been solved by applying the method of analysis and interpretation of source texts as well as the method of synthesis.
