dc.description.abstract	The text discusses select elements of belonging to religious organizations in the aspect of their functionality or dysfunctionality for people involved. We presented the issues of values and formation in religious communities, their structures and organization, social ties and language and communication. The source of the theses formulated is an analysis of in-depth interviews carried out with thirty representatives of various religious organizations in Poland and current sociological norms. From the undertaken analysis, the results show that each of the mentioned elements has an essentially functional nature, thus, the described signs of dysfunctionality are phenomena pointing to disturbances in the proper functioning of particular dimensions of the functioning of the described organizations.
